Selling a Kia K900 that's done

The first US model year, the 2015, accounts for 54 of the Kia K900's 68 NHTSA complaints. Lights and air bags lead that year's list. Later K900s barely show up in the October 10, 2026 file, and a 2018 or 2020 has none at all.

The two K900 generations

First generation (KH), built 2012-2018

Wikipedia dates this generation to 2012-2018, built in Gwangmyeong, South Korea, related to the Hyundai Equus. Its engine list is a 3.3 or 3.8-liter V6 and a 5.0-liter V8, with an 8-speed automatic.

The 2015 drew exterior lighting (15), air bag (14) and electrical (7) complaints. Recall 16V210 covers 2015-2016 K900s built December 18, 2013 to January 11, 2016 with LED headlights; dealers replace the multi-function switch. Its 3,099 vehicles are all K900s.

Two park-outside recalls cover the hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU) behind the anti-lock brakes. 22V051 covers 2016-2018 K900s, where the module can short out; its 126,747 vehicles also include 2014-2016 Sportages. 23V652 covers 2015-2018 K900s, and its 1,730,192 vehicles span a long list of Kias, from the Borrego to the Soul. In both, dealers fit a new fuse.

Second generation (RJ), built from 2018

Built from 2018 and related to the Genesis G90, this generation added a 3.3-liter turbo V6. That engine is the subject of recall 24V169: the left turbo oil feed pipe and hose can deteriorate, and dealers replace them. The 36,248 vehicles also include 2018-2023 Stingers, so that count is not all K900s. The 2019 has 2 complaints and the 2020 none; the last K900s are the youngest, giving owners fewer years to file.

Kia dropped the K900 in the US in 2021, citing buyers moving to crossovers and SUVs.

Fix it or sell it

Run the VIN through NHTSA's recall lookup first; the headlight switch and fuse recalls are listed as free at a dealer. Owners named exterior lighting (17), air bags (16) and the electrical system (10) most across all years; electrical problems covers faults that are hard to trace. When a quote nears the price of a running K900, see when repairs outrun the car's value.

Selling your K900 whole

  1. Note the VIN, the odometer reading and which engine it has.
  2. Get an offer online or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Let us know its location and if the wheels turn; it is a long sedan, so tight garages are worth mentioning.
  4. Sell the whole car as it sits, and say if any part is missing.
  5. The driver collects the signed title; show your ID too. After you sell covers plates and insurance.
