Selling a dead or junk car in Huntington Park
Huntington Park is compact: 51,544 people on 3.008 square miles of land. Strip a parked Huntington Park car of its wheels, tires, doors or windshield on public ground, and Vehicle Code 22669 gives it no grace period; officers may take it at once. We looked for Huntington Park's municipal code online and could not locate it. Everything below is California law, and local rules may sit on top. If your car is parked dead or half stripped, we buy whole non-running and junk cars, and you sell the whole car as it sits.

What state law lets the city do
Under Vehicle Code 22660, every California city and county may pass its own ordinance treating abandoned, wrecked, dismantled or broken-down cars as nuisances, clearing them from yards or public land and billing the cost. A car on private property in Huntington Park is therefore a local question. Call the city before assuming state law is all there is.
These state rules reach every California town:
- Three days in one spot. If a Huntington Park ordinance limits street parking, Vehicle Code 22651 permits towing a car that sits past 72 consecutive hours.
- An officer's judgment is enough. If a peace officer, or a city employee assigned the task, believes a Huntington Park car is abandoned, 22669 lets them remove it from a street, a public lot or private land.
- Cheap cars, short clocks. Vehicle Code 22851.3 covers an abandoned car worth $500 or under. Huntington Park posts a warning 72 hours before removal, except when subsection (d) of 22669 is used on a car worth $300 or less. The owner hears within 48 hours of the tow. Disposal can come 15 days after that notice, and a hearing request has a 10-day limit.
- Walking away costs money. Huntington Park owners break Vehicle Code 22523 if they dump a car on a street, or on someone else's property without permission. Huntington Park fines start at $100, and the owner needs a removal receipt.
For a car that is already partly stripped, see missing parts.
Signing it over
Huntington Park titles go through California's state DMV; no county title office is involved. Sign the title, with any lender on record signing too. Your Huntington Park buyer covers the $15 transfer fee, and no notary shows up in the DMV's seller steps. Mail works too, through the DMV's Sacramento title box.
REG 138 is due inside 5 days. It also matters under 22523: once a report of sale is on file, a buyer who later abandons the car cannot pin it on you. Junk-bound cars skip the smog check, and regular plates normally stay mounted. If it was already towed, start with towed or impounded. Statewide details are on the California page.

Getting an offer
Online or at (877) 421-6008, describe it: year, make, model, odometer, does it start, and is there a title. Free pickup anywhere in the US means the truck can find it on a side street, behind a shop on Pacific Boulevard, or in an alley space.
