Selling a dead or junk car in DeBary
DeBary's council put its reasons for the junk-car rule in writing, and mosquitoes are one of them. Section 30-103 says a dead car stored outside a completely enclosed garage "can become a breeding place for disease-carrying insects and vermin," and calls such cars "solid waste which pollute the land." If you have one, we buy whole non-running and junk cars. You sell the whole car as it sits, and pickup is free anywhere in the US.

What DeBary counts as abandoned
The code uses "abandoned" broadly. Section 30-103 covers vehicles "that are inoperative, wrecked, partially dismantled or otherwise mechanically incapable of being operated in their present condition, or without current state license tags, if required." A car that is simply out of tags fits.
The garage rule and the 21-day rule
Two sections work together.
30-104 bans those vehicles "on any public right-of-way under any circumstances," and on private property "except within a completely enclosed garage," or where zoning permits them. When an inspection turns one up, DeBary code enforcement may write to both the car's record owner and the landowner, by registered or certified mail with return receipt, or deliver it by hand.
30-105 sets the limit. No person in charge of a property, "whether as owner, tenant, occupant, lessee or otherwise," shall let such a vehicle "remain on such property longer than 21 days." Tenants are named, so renting does not take you out of it.
Driveway repairs
Section 30-111 allows repairs in residential areas on two conditions: the car is "currently registered to the property owner or resident of such property," and the work "must be performed in a garage or carport." A friend's unregistered project car on jack stands in your driveway breaks both.
Roadsides, shoulders and store lots
- 24 hours on a road. Section 50-80 calls a dead car abandoned at 24 straight hours on a public right-of-way.
- Shoulders and medians. A car parked there past 24 hours "will be towed at the owners expense."
- Business lots. Customer parking is implied permission only. Past one hour, a car can be towed.
An impounded car under Section 50-81 goes back to its identified owner "only upon the payment of any fine and the storage, towing and other impounding charges."

State law describes a derelict car as one whose main value is scrap or parts. A DeBary seller using it may deal with just two buyer types, each needing state paperwork: salvage dealers and metal recyclers. See junk car with no title.

Getting an offer
Call (877) 421-6008 or start online. For a DeBary car we ask four things: model, mileage, running or not, title or not. A garage near DeBary Hall, a shop bay, or a side street all work for pickup. Then follow after you sell for the plate and the notice of sale.
