Selling a junk or broken Lincoln Mark LT

Of the Mark LT's 41 NHTSA complaints, 31 belong to the 2006 model year. The 2007 and 2008 add just nine between them.

Wikipedia says the Mark LT met with poor sales in the US, even though it became Lincoln's best-selling model in Mexico. If yours is worn out or won't start, it can go as one piece. We buy whole non-running and junk cars and trucks, with free pickup anywhere in the US.

The truck under the badge

The Mark LT was built on the same lines as the Ford F-150 it was based on, at the Rouge plant in Dearborn, Michigan, and at Cuautitlán, Mexico. US trucks are the first generation (2006-2008), with a 5.4 L Triton V8 and a 4-speed 4R75E automatic, sold in 2WD and 4WD. It replaced the Blackwood. Wikipedia lists a second generation for 2010-2014, but Ford ended US sales of the Mark LT after the 2008 model year, and the F-150 Platinum took its place.

2006: where the complaints and recalls sit

The 2006 leads with engine complaints (6), engine and engine cooling (5) and suspension (4). Five of its complaints report a crash. All four Mark LT recalls touch the 2006:

  • 08V208 (2005-2006 with the 5.4L 3-valve engine): the brake booster vacuum supply hose can swell and lose its grip on the intake manifold fitting. Dealers replace the hose. The 605,684 vehicles counted are mostly F-150s.
  • 11V107 (2006): the clockspring jumper wire can touch part of the driver's air bag module. Dealers install a new jumper wire. That campaign counts 1,325,000 vehicles, nearly all 2004-2006 F-150s.
  • 06V033: dealers recalibrate the instrument cluster so the truck meets federal brake-system standards.
  • 05V520: the wiper motor may have left the factory without grease on its output gear.

2007-2008: few reports

The 2007 has 7 complaints, with the electrical system named twice, and no recall campaigns. The 2008 has 2. One more complaint is filed under 2005, the year production began.

Fix it or sell it?

Check the VIN for open recalls first, and ask a Ford or Lincoln dealer about anything still open. If the 5.4 or the transmission has quit, get the repair quote on paper and hold it up against ads for Mark LTs that still run. When the repair would swallow most of a running truck's price, letting it go is the easier call. See junk truck or SUV for how big vehicles are handled.

Selling it whole

  1. Write down the Mark LT's VIN, what the odometer shows, its drive type and what went wrong.
  2. Get an offer online or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Tell us where the Mark LT is sitting and whether it will roll. A full-size crew cab needs the right truck to load it, and pickup is free anywhere in the US.
  4. Sell the whole car as it sits. Leave the wheels and bed in place.
  5. Bring two things to pickup: the title and your ID. See after you sell for plates and insurance.

Also on the site: the Blackwood, the Navigator and every Lincoln.

Questions people ask

Which Mark LT year has the most complaints?
The 2006 Mark LT. It holds 31 of the 41 NHTSA complaints we counted on October 10, 2026. Engine items lead, followed by suspension.
Do F-150 recalls apply to my Mark LT?
Some do. Recall 08V208 (brake booster vacuum hose) and recall 11V107 (air bag clockspring jumper wire) both name the Mark LT alongside the F-150. Their vehicle counts are mostly F-150s. Run your Mark LT's VIN through nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Will you buy a Mark LT with a bad engine?
Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars and trucks, and pickup is free anywhere in the US. Let us know if it's a 4x4 and whether it can be pulled onto a flatbed.
