Because it's so new, its record at NHTSA is short, and Toyota's warranty still matters for many owners. Both are covered below.
What NHTSA has on file so far
NHTSA held 15 owner complaints on the Signia when we pulled its data on October 10, 2026. That is too few to show a pattern, and we haven't read the write-ups.
| Model year | Complaints | Crashes reported | Recalls |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 14 | 1 | 3 |
| 2026 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
On the 2025, the areas named most are the electrical system (3), "unknown or other" (3) and exterior lighting (2). The single 2026 complaint is about steering.
All three recalls are software or label fixes that the Signia shares with other models:
- 25V595, instrument panel. A software glitch during startup may leave critical readouts missing from the gauge display. The update goes over the air at no charge, and owner letters began December 5, 2025. The campaign covers 591,377 vehicles across many Toyota and Lexus models.
- 25V744, rearview camera. On cars with the Panoramic View Monitor, a software error can freeze the rearview image or leave the screen blank in reverse. Dealers update it free. Its 1,024,407 vehicles include Lexus models and the Subaru Solterra.
- 26V179, load label. The label giving the vehicle's load capacity may show a wrong value, which could lead an owner to overload it. Dealers replace the label. The campaign totals 8,230 vehicles across several 2024-2026 Toyota and Lexus models.
The car itself
Toyota introduced the Crown Signia in Los Angeles on November 14, 2023, as the second Crown in its US lineup and the first SUV to carry the name. It replaced the smaller Venza and rides on the TNGA GA-K platform. Production for North America started in June 2024 at the Tsutsumi plant in Toyota City, Japan.
There is one powertrain: a 2.5-liter four with two electric motors, a nickel-metal hydride battery and all-wheel drive on every car. Toyota quoted 243 horsepower at the debut and 240 at launch. It comes in XLE and Limited grades, seats five, and with the second row folded the cargo floor is 6.5 feet long. EPA rates both model years at 39 mpg city, 37 highway and 38 combined. For 2026 the Limited added a two-tone option with a black roof.
Repair under warranty, or sell?
Toyota says every vehicle carries a 36-month/36,000-mile limited warranty. It puts hybrid battery coverage at 150,000 miles or ten years, whichever is reached first. Production only began in June 2024, so no Crown Signia has reached the 36-month mark yet; only the 36,000-mile limit can have run out. If the problem is a defect rather than damage, start with a Toyota dealer. Run the VIN at NHTSA's recall lookup too.
Damage is different. If water got inside, read our flood-damaged car guide before deciding. If you still owe on the car, selling a car with a loan explains how the payoff and the title fit together.
Selling it as it sits
Have the VIN, the mileage and a description of the damage ready. Get an offer online or call (877) 421-6008. Tell us where the Signia is parked, whether at home, at a body shop or in a tow yard, and whether it rolls. Pickup is free anywhere in the US.
You sell the whole car as it sits. Leave the hybrid battery, the wheels and everything else on it, and say up front if anything has been removed. When the truck comes, have your photo ID and the title ready; if a lender holds the title, keep the loan account details nearby. After you sell covers plates and insurance by state.
Other Toyota hybrids: the Venza, the Crown sedan and the RAV4, or every Toyota.
Questions people ask
- Has the Crown Signia had any recalls?
- Three, all on 2025 models and all shared with other Toyota and Lexus models: a startup software error in the instrument panel (25V595), a rearview camera that can freeze or go blank (25V744) and a load label that may show the wrong figure (26V179). Each fix is free.
- Is the Crown Signia a new Venza?
- It took the Venza's place in North America, but it's a different, larger hybrid SUV on Toyota's TNGA GA-K platform. Toyota calls it the Crown nameplate's first SUV.
- Will you buy a Crown Signia after a crash or a flood?
- Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, and pickup is free anywhere in the US. Describe the damage, say whether it rolls, and mention any loan on it when you ask for an offer.
