That small file fits a short life. Honda sold the Vigor in Japan from 1981, but it came to North America as an Acura only from June 1991 (model year 1992) through 1994. Wikipedia says poor sales led Honda to drop it, and production ended on May 13, 1994.

What the Vigor is

The Vigor was a premium sedan derived from the Honda Accord. Early versions in Japan served as Honda's flagship before the Legend arrived. The Acura version is the third generation, built in Sayama, Japan. Wikipedia lists that generation with 2.0- and 2.5-liter five-cylinder engines, mounted lengthwise and driving the front wheels, on a 110.4-inch wheelbase. The 1996 Acura TL took its place.

What owners reported, 1992 to 1994

There is one Acura generation, so the years read as one group. Across all three, air bags and the engine and its cooling are named most (4 complaints each), then steering (3).

  • 1992: 13 complaints. Four mention a crash, three a fire, and three an injury. Air bags (4), visibility (2) and engine cooling (2) lead.
  • 1993: 5 complaints, split among engine cooling (2), hydraulic service brakes (2) and the power train (1).
  • 1994: 3 complaints, two about steering and one about the wheels.

These complaints date from the car's early years. A Vigor still on the road today has outlived most of them, so its own condition matters more than this table.

Is it worth fixing?

Get a written quote first, then compare it with what a running Vigor in the same shape would bring. The newest Vigor is a 1994, and a repair bill on a car that old can pass its value; old or high mileage walks through that math. If it overheated, read head gasket or overheating. A Vigor that has gone years without moving brings its own issues, covered in sitting for years.

Selling the Vigor whole

  1. Dig out the title and copy down the VIN and odometer reading.
  2. Ask for an offer online or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Say if your Vigor rolls, if its tires keep air, and where it's parked, like a driveway, garage or back lot.
  4. Keep the Vigor intact. If a part is already gone, list it, because that changes the offer.
  5. No title? Start with selling with no title.
