The older cars tell a quieter story: seat belts on the early ones, air bags on the mid-1990s cars. Whatever year yours is, if it is finished, you can sell the whole car as it sits. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, with free pickup anywhere in the US.
Four Integra generations in the NHTSA file
These Integra numbers are the owner reports on file at NHTSA as of October 10, 2026. They show what Integra drivers reported, not how well the car was built. The liftbacks from 2023 on are only a few years old, so their totals are still growing. Generations and engines are from Wikipedia's Integra article. The Integra was one of Acura's two launch models in 1986, alongside the Legend.
Built 1985-1989: complaints on 1986-1989 models, 41
The first Integra came from Suzuka, Japan, with a 1.5-liter engine and a 5-speed manual. Recall 88V180 covers 1986-1987 cars whose windshield wiper contact unit could loosen in high heat. On 1986-1991 Integra front belts, the red plastic buckle release button can crack, which is what Recall 95V103 fixes; it spans 3,700,000 vehicles of many brands.
Built 1989-1993: complaints on 1990-1993 models, 117
Wikipedia lists 1.6, 1.7 and 1.8-liter engines. Belts lead the 1990 (9 complaints), 1991 (14) and 1993 (6), which fits the buckle recall above for the 1990-1991. One death is reported, on a 1990.
Built 1993-2001: complaints on 1994-2001 models, 217
Engines ran from a 1.6 to the 1.8-liter VTEC, and the Type R arrived in 1997. Air bags lead on the 1994 and 1995 with 16 complaints each, and those two years report 15 and 17 crashes. Recall 94V063 covers a 1994 shift cable retaining clip that may come off after repeated use. Recall 02V196 covers passenger air bag modules on 375 2001 Integras that may not have been welded right. Two deaths are reported, both on the 1998.
The fourth-generation Integra (2001-2006) was sold in the US as the Acura RSX.
2023 on: the five-door liftback
The Integra came back on June 2, 2022, for the 2023 model year, as a five-door liftback that replaced the ILX. It shares the eleventh-generation Civic's platform. Its 282 complaints so far include 244 that name steering. Recall 24V744 covers 2023-2025 Integras, with dealers replacing a worm gear spring and adding grease. Smaller recalls cover a VSA brake modulator that may leak on some 2023s (23V430) and driver seat cushion frames on some 2024s (24V859 and 26V054).

Restore it, fix it, or sell it?
A 2023-2025 with steering trouble belongs at an Acura dealer first; the VIN on NHTSA's recall page shows whether 24V744 is still open. A 1990s Integra is a different question. Long-parked? The sitting for years guide lists what tends to need work. A stalled project? Try old project car. Either way, compare what it would take to get it running with what it would sell for once it runs.
Selling the Integra whole
- Gather the VIN, mileage and condition. Say whether it is a hatchback, coupe, sedan or liftback, and manual or automatic.
- Get an offer online or call (877) 421-6008.
- Do the tires still hold air, and where is it parked? Free pickup anywhere in the US.
- Leave it complete, engine and all. If parts were pulled for another car, say which.
- Have the title ready at pickup. For an old car with no title, see selling with no title.

Questions people ask
- Why does the 2023 Integra have so many NHTSA complaints?
- Steering accounts for 187 of its 208 complaints in our October 10, 2026 count. For 2023-2025 Integras under Recall 24V744, dealers fit a new worm gear spring and add grease if it's needed. That campaign counts 1,693,199 vehicles, including Civics, CR-Vs and HR-Vs, so the number is not the Integra's alone.
- Was there an Acura Integra from 2002 to 2006?
- Not under that name in the US. Acura sold the RSX in those years, and the Integra name returned for the 2023 model year as a five-door liftback.
- Will you buy a 1990s Integra that hasn't run in years?
- Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, with free pickup anywhere in the US. Mention flat tires or a dead battery in your request so the truck comes ready.
