Selling a damaged Cadillac Celestiq

The Celestiq is the first vehicle sold to the public that GM assembled at its Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. Since that campus was finished in 1956, only concept and show cars had been built there. As of October 10, 2026, NHTSA had zero owner complaints and zero recall campaigns logged for the car.

That doesn't stop a crash, a flood or a fire. If your Celestiq is damaged or won't power up, you can sell the whole car as it sits. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, and pickup is free anywhere in the US.

What the records say about the car

EPA data lists the Celestiq for the 2025 and 2026 model years as an electric car in its small station wagon class. Wikipedia calls it a full-size luxury car. Production began in January 2024.

Per Wikipedia, it runs on a 111 kWh NCMA Ultium battery and two motors driving all four wheels. It rides on GM's BEV3 platform with a 130.2-inch wheelbase. Magalie Debellis is listed as the designer.

Complaints and recalls so far

There is one generation, and NHTSA's complaint file names no component on it, because no owner has filed. There are no recalls either.

Read that zero carefully. The 2025 and 2026 model years are recent, so owners have had less time to file anything. Zero is where the record starts, not a verdict.

Fix it or sell it?

With no recall or complaint pattern to point to, the question is what happened to your car.

  1. Run the VIN at NHTSA's recall lookup anyway. A campaign added after October 2026 would show there.
  2. Battery won't charge? Get the 111 kWh Ultium pack diagnosed in writing, then read EV battery failed before you decide.
  3. After a crash, see wrecked or totaled. If the insurer paid and you kept the car, see keep the check, sell unrepaired.
  4. Water or fire? See flood damage or fire damage.

Selling it whole

  1. Have the VIN ready, with the mileage, what's wrong, and whether the car powers on.
  2. Get an offer online, or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Describe the spot, garage or driveway or body shop, and say up front whether the car can roll.
  4. Leave it whole, battery pack included, and mention anything already removed.
  5. Title in hand? Bring it with your driver's license or other ID. Bank still on it? See still owe on the loan.

Questions people ask

Does the Cadillac Celestiq have any recalls or complaints?
None on file as of October 10, 2026: no owner complaints in NHTSA's complaint file and no recall campaigns. The 2025 and 2026 model years are new, so they have had less time to collect complaints. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, since a campaign can be added later.
Will you buy a Celestiq with a dead battery or after a crash?
Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, and pickup is free anywhere in the US. Describe the damage, say if the car moves, and give the location.
Where is the Celestiq built?
At GM's Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. Wikipedia says only concept and show cars had been assembled there since it was completed in 1956, and the Celestiq is the first vehicle sold to the public built at the site.
My insurer paid out but I kept the car. Can I sell it unrepaired?
Usually, yes. Our guide on keeping the check and selling unrepaired explains how the title and the payout fit together.
