A short record, one generation
Wikipedia classes the Optiq as a compact luxury crossover. It is electric and uses the BEV3 platform, like the Vistiq. It's built in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, and Wuhan, China, and EPA range is 302 miles. The EPA lists rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, including an AWD V-Series, for 2026 and 2027. NHTSA's complaint file also has 2025 model-year cars.
Complaints spread thin. Electrical system, forward collision avoidance and "unknown or other" have 3 each. Brakes and tires have 2 each. One 2025 complaint reports a crash. The oldest Optiqs in the file are 2025 models, so these are early numbers.
The three recalls:
- 26V612, front windows: with the key fob's express-up, the windows may not detect an obstruction and reverse. Software update by a dealer or over the air.
- 25V704, tires: 21-inch Continental all-season tires made in DOT week 4024 may have partial or full tread detachment, the notice says. Chevrolet Equinox EVs are part of the 22,914 count.
- 26V114, owner's manual: the radio may not download the electronic manual. Its 5,861 vehicles span many GM models, so not all of them are Optiqs.
