Selling a junk or broken-down Chrysler Voyager

Owners have filed just 41 complaints with NHTSA about the 2020-2026 Chrysler Voyager, yet 16 recall campaigns list it. The 2024 shows the gap best: one complaint, seven campaigns.

So if your Voyager is wrecked, won't start or needs more than it's worth, check the recalls before anything else. Then, if selling makes sense: we buy whole non-running and junk cars. You sell the whole car as it sits, and pickup is free anywhere in the US.

A returning name on a minivan

Wikipedia counts six generations of Chrysler Voyager, the first starting in 1988. The sixth runs from 2020 to 2026, and it is the only one in the EPA's US data under the Voyager name, listed there as a gasoline minivan, though recall 26V561 also names a 2026 Voyager Plug-In Hybrid. Wikipedia lists the Chrysler Pacifica as a related model, and nearly every recall below names the two vans together.

Problems by model year

Every Voyager here belongs to the sixth generation, so the sections below split it by the patterns in each span of years.

2020-2021: engine, steering and electrical complaints

These two years hold 30 of the 41 complaints. On the 2020, 5 of 13 name the engine and 4 name steering, and one reports a crash. The 2021 has the most of any year, 17: electrical system 5, steering 4.

The recalls here are small. Campaign 22V181 covers 2021 Voyagers and 2021-2022 Pacificas whose second-row seat latch can bind and stick open, so the seat may not lock to the floor. Dealers inspect it and replace the seat cushion frame if needed. Campaign 24V793 is for a side curtain air bag connector that may not be secured; it had 26 vehicles, and every one has been remedied.

2022-2024: few complaints, many campaigns

Complaints drop to 5, 5 and 1. Recalls climb to 5, 7 and 7 per year. The thread through them is the side curtain air bags. Campaigns 25V302 (2022-2025) and 25V573 (some 2025s) say the bags may not hold enough pressure because of improperly sealed seams; 26V189 (2022-2026) says only that they may not hold enough pressure. Dealers replace them as needed.

The rest are one-off fixes:

  • 22V619 (2022): wiper arm nuts not tightened right.
  • 24V240 (2024): traction control does not work while cruise control is on. Fixed with a software update.
  • 24V238 (2024): a windshield that may not be fully secured to the body and could come loose in a crash.
  • 25V388 (2023): the rearview camera picture may fail to show.
  • 24V888 and 26V358: Braun, a mobility-conversion company, recalled a seat limiter and a front seat harness connector.

2025-2026: no complaints yet

Nothing had been filed for these years by October 10, 2026; vans this fresh off the line have barely begun piling up owner reports. Campaign 26V561 covers 2025-2026 Voyagers whose brake pedal position sensor may have a cracked capacitor.

Complaints and recalls by model year

Complaint counts reflect NHTSA's file as pulled October 10, 2026. A few Voyager campaigns span several model years. That overlap pushes the recall total above 16.

Some campaign totals reach well beyond the Voyager. Campaign 24V436, a rear camera software fix on the 2022, lists 1,033,433 vehicles across Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Chrysler models. Campaign 26V531 (2026) lists 844,027 across a similar spread.

Fix it or sell it?

  1. Recalls come first on this van. Paste its 17-character VIN into NHTSA's search. Every remedy above is listed as free of charge at a dealer.
  2. Electrical faults? The electrical system ties with steering for the most complaints in the file, 8 each. Our electrical problems guide covers when one becomes worth walking away from.
  3. Wrecked? If the curtain bags or front bags went off, see airbags deployed before paying for repairs.
  4. Open recall but you're done with the van? You can still sell it. See selling with an open recall.

Selling the Voyager whole

  1. Copy the VIN off the dash or door jamb, read the miles, and list any warning lights or problems.
  2. Get an offer online, or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Tell us where your Voyager is parked and if its wheels turn. Also tell us if it was converted for a wheelchair. Free pickup anywhere in the US.
  4. Leave it whole, including the seats. If a second-row seat is out, tell us.
  5. Pickup day needs two things from you: the Voyager's title, signed, and an ID with your photo. After you sell covers plates and insurance.

Questions people ask

Which Chrysler Voyager year has the most NHTSA complaints?
The 2021 holds 17 of the 41 complaints on file at October 10, 2026, followed by the 2020 at 13. Nothing was on file yet for the 2025 or 2026, and a young model year has simply had fewer months for owners to report anything.
Is my Voyager covered by the side curtain air bag recalls?
It depends on the year. Campaign 25V302 covers 2022-2025 Voyagers and 26V189 covers 2022-2026; 25V573 covers some 2025s. In each, dealers swap the curtain bags where needed at no cost. To learn whether your own van still has one pending, search its VIN on nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Does recall 24V436 really cover a million Voyagers?
No. The 1,033,433 figure is the whole campaign, which spans Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Chrysler models. The 2022 Voyager is one of many vehicles in it.
Do you take a crashed Voyager, or one that won't start?
Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, and pickup is free anywhere in the US. Tell us what happened and where the van is parked.
