A Vision with a fuel leak, a slipping automatic or loose steering doesn't need fixing first. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, so you can sell the whole car as it sits, with free pickup anywhere in the US.
The Vision in NHTSA's files
For the Eagle Vision, we used NHTSA owner complaints pulled October 10, 2026, plus each model year's listed recall campaigns.
| Year | Owner complaints | Mention fire | Leading three components | Campaigns |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1992 | 1 | 0 | Suspension (1) | 0 |
| 1993 | 163 | 6 | Fuel system 43, engine 17, power train 15 | 5 |
| 1994 | 148 | 2 | Power train 28, fuel system 25, steering 18 | 4 |
| 1995 | 97 | 1 | Power train 26, steering 14, fuel system 11 | 3 |
| 1996 | 46 | 2 | Steering 15, fuel system 5, brakes 4 | 2 |
| 1997 | 21 | 1 | Steering 5, power train 4, engine 4 | 2 |
The lone 1992 complaint comes before EPA's first Vision year, though Wikipedia starts production in 1992. Wikipedia counts 28,678 Visions built for 1993 and 22,064 for 1994. The 1996 and 1997 Vision came later, so owners had a shorter stretch to report trouble.
Problems by model year
Wikipedia describes it as a front-drive sedan on Chrysler's LH platform from Brampton Assembly in Ontario, powered by a 3.3-liter EGA or 3.5-liter EGE V6 through the 4-speed 42LE automatic.
1993: fuel rails and the launch-year count
The first-year car leads with 163 complaints, and 43 cite the fuel system. Six of them mention fire and one reports a death.
Both fuel campaigns start here. Under 98V130000, 3.3-liter cars had injector rail O-rings on the supply, return and crossover tubes that were less durable than later parts, so dealers fitted a new rail. Under 98V184000, 3.5-liter cars from 1993 through 1997 could seep fuel at rail O-rings or through fine cracks in the thermoset rail. NHTSA's 722,600 is the whole campaign's count, and that campaign may cover more than the Vision.
A small 1993 campaign, 92V128000, replaced front strut bar washers that hydrogen embrittlement could crack loose.
1994-1995: power train on top
Power train leads both years, at 28 and 26. Ten 1994 reports describe an injury.
Campaign 94V024000 hit only the 1994. Its right tie rod could chafe through the transmission wiring harness, and the resulting short could kill the engine and knock out the park/starter interlock. Dealers added a harness bracket and a plastic sleeve. A separate campaign, 99V215000, named 1993-1995 cars: brackets holding the lower control arms could fatigue, crack and pull away from the engine cradle, so dealers strengthened the cradle at that point.
1996-1997: steering complaints lead
Steering heads the 1996 list with 15 of 46. One campaign spans all five years: 04V021000, because the floor shifter's ignition-park interlock could fail and allow the shifter out of Park after the key was pulled. Its 2,315,768 vehicles take in far more than Visions.
Wikipedia dates the last Vision to September 5, 1997. On September 29 that year, Chrysler told dealers the Eagle brand would close after the 1998 model year. The Chrysler 300M took the Vision's slot.
Selling the whole car
- Have the VIN, odometer reading and engine size (3.3 or 3.5) on hand. Tell us if it rolls and steers.
- Request an offer online, or call (877) 421-6008.
- Say where it's parked. Smell gas? Leave it there. With free pickup anywhere in the US, the truck comes to it.
- Keep it intact. Pulled the radio or the wheels already? Just say so.
- Have your Vision title and driver's license ready when the tow truck comes. After you sell covers plates and insurance.
Repair it or let it go?
Get the repair priced on paper, then check what a running Vision of your year goes for. If your Vision repair quote comes close to what the car is worth, selling it whole is the sensible move.
- Search recalls by VIN at NHTSA. Our open recall guide explains selling with one unfixed.
- A 1994 that stalls, or a park/starter interlock that quit? The tie rod and harness campaign (94V024000) describes both: the right tie rod can rub through the transmission wiring harness and short it. Have it checked first.
- No start at all? See car doesn't run.
No title? Read selling with no title. Other Eagles: Premier, Talon, Summit, Medallion, or all Eagle models.
Questions people ask
- Which Eagle Vision year has the most NHTSA complaints?
- 1993, the debut year: 163 complaints as of October 10, 2026, with 148 on the 1994 right after. Fuel system leads the 1993 list, power train the 1994 and 1995.
- Was the Vision's fuel rail recalled?
- Yes, twice. 98V130000 named 1993 cars with the 3.3-liter, and 98V184000 named 1993-1997 cars with the 3.5-liter. The 722,600 figure on the second is for the full campaign, which may include other models. Enter the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
- Is the Vision the same car as a Dodge Intrepid?
- They share Chrysler's LH platform. Wikipedia lists the Chrysler Concorde, LHS and New Yorker and the Dodge Intrepid as related cars.
- Will you buy a Vision that won't start?
- Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, with free pickup anywhere in the US. Tell us it won't start and where it is parked.
