Selling a dead or junk Eagle

Yes, you can sell a dead Eagle without fixing it. We buy whole non-running and junk cars. Sell the whole car as it sits, and free pickup anywhere in the US means the truck comes to wherever the Eagle is parked.

Eagle is a brand that stopped. The EPA's fuel economy list carries Eagle models from 1988 through 1998 and nothing after, so the newest Eagle is from the 1998 model year. Any Eagle still around is well past a quarter century old.

Five models across eleven model years

The EPA list holds five Eagle nameplates. Two start in 1988, and the last one ends in 1998.

  • Medallion and Premier are the 1988 starters. The Medallion is listed for just 1988 and 1989. The Premier runs to 1992.
  • Summit joins in 1989 and lasts through 1996.
  • Talon arrives in 1990 and outlives every other Eagle, running to 1998.
  • Vision covers 1993 to 1997.

Which Eagles owners filed the most complaints about

By our October 10, 2026 pull of the NHTSA file, Eagle owners had filed 1,520 complaints across the five models, each one an owner's own report to federal safety regulators. None of them is a finding that something was wrong with the car, and the tally is no reliability score.

ModelYears (EPA list)NHTSA complaints
Talon1990-1998587
Vision1993-1997476
Premier1988-1992217
Summit1989-1996217
Medallion1988-198912

How long a model stayed on sale shapes these numbers. The Talon had nine model years to collect complaints. The Medallion had two, and it drew 12. Even the last Eagle, the 1998 Talon, has been out for nearly three decades, so no Eagle year looks clean just by being recent. The Vision stands out: it sold for five model years, about half the Talon's run, and still drew 476.

What every Eagle shares when it is time to sell

Age is the common thread. With no Eagle newer than 1998, the usual reasons one comes up for sale are a car that sat too long, an engine or transmission that quit, rust, or a family member's car that nobody wants to restore. Our guides cover a car sitting for years and an inherited car.

Paperwork is the other common snag. An Eagle may have been through several owners, or the title may have been lost decades ago. If yours is gone, see how a no-title sale works.

Selling a dead Eagle whole

You don't strip it first. No pulling the engine, the wheels or the battery. The whole car goes, as it sits.

  1. Note which Eagle it is, the year, and the miles. If the odometer quit long ago, mention that.
  2. Describe its state: starts or not, wheels turn or not, any panels or parts gone.
  3. Mention if the title is in hand.
  4. Tell us where the Eagle is parked, a carport, a side yard or a barn.

The truck meets the car there, and pickup is free anywhere in the US. Afterward, handle the plates and the paperwork.

Questions people ask

Will you buy an Eagle that has not run in years?
Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, and an Eagle parked since the 1990s or 2000s counts. Sell the whole car as it sits, with free pickup anywhere in the US.
Which Eagle has the most NHTSA complaints?
The Talon. Owners had sent NHTSA 587 complaints about it by October 10, 2026, and 476 about the Vision. Keep in mind the Talon stayed on sale longer than any other Eagle, and a complaint count says nothing official about reliability.
The Eagle's title went missing years ago. Now what?
The fix depends on your state. Plenty of Eagles have changed hands several times or sat for decades, so a missing title is common. Our no-title guide covers the choices for each state.
Do I need to remove anything before pickup?
Nothing mechanical. Leave every part on the Eagle. Take out your personal things and, where your state requires it, the plates.
