The truck in brief
EPA's data covers the 2024 and 2025 model years, in pickup and SUV form, with 2X and 3X versions and MT-tire packages. Wikipedia says production began in November 2021 at GM's Detroit/Hamtramck plant, also called Factory Zero. The Hummer EV2 has two motors and rear-wheel drive; the EV2X and EV3X have two or three motors and all-wheel drive. It shares the GM BT1 platform with the Chevrolet Silverado EV. The old Hummer brand was discontinued in 2010 after GM's bankruptcy, and the H2 is listed as the predecessor.

Known problems by year
2023: the battery pack seal
Recall 22V771 covers 2022-2023 Hummer EV Pickups and 2022 BrightDrop EV600 vans. The high-voltage battery pack enclosure may not be sealed, so water can get in. The notice said the remedy was still under development, with first owner letters mailed April 13, 2023. 797 vehicles in the campaign.
Recall 23V786 covers 2023-2024 pickups, the 2024 SUV and the 2024 Silverado EV: the bolts holding the front seat belt buckles may be loose. Dealers tighten them free. 115 vehicles.
2024: brakes, electrical and the rear drive unit
The 2024's 11 complaints lean on the electrical system and service brakes, with one about forward collision avoidance and one crash reported. Recall 24V320 covers the electric motors in the rear drive units of some 2024 Hummer EV SUVs, plus the Lyriq, Blazer EV, Silverado EV and Sierra EV. Dealers replace the rear drive unit free. 10 vehicles in the campaign.
2025 and 2026
The 2025 has the most complaints, 13, led by the electrical system (5), then power train and forward collision avoidance (2 each). No recall campaigns are listed for it. For 2026 models, recall 25V769 covers a front passenger air bag wire that may be badly crimped, so the bag may not deploy as intended; dealers add a jumper harness. 354 vehicles. Recall 26V114 resets the radio so the digital owner's manual can download, and it spans 5,861 vehicles from many GM models.
