Selling a broken or junk Lotus Evora
Lotus built 6,117 Evoras in all, Wikipedia says, and owners have sent NHTSA just 16 complaints about them through Oct. 10, 2026. Six of those 16 name the suspension, the top category in the Evora file.

A small file doesn't help much when your own Evora is wrecked or won't run. You can sell the whole car as it sits. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, and pickup is free anywhere in the US.
The six recalls, oldest first
Three concern engine oil lines on 2011 cars:
- 12V477: 2011 supercharged cars built February to September 2011 had a three-piece oil feed pipe with a flexible hose section. Dealers replace the pipe free. 80 vehicles.
- 13V314: on 2011 supercharged cars with the manual gearbox, the engine oil cooler hose may chafe and rupture. 80 vehicles.
- 14V280: oil cooler hose work on 2011 Evoras. Its 860-vehicle count also covers 2008-2011 Elise and Exige cars, so most of that number may not be Evoras.
The rest:
- 13V216 (2013): 28 cars built September to November 2012 had a temporary exemption tied to a passenger-side requirement. Dealers replace the federal compliance label.
- 18V781 (2018): an assembly error means the steering column may not collapse properly in a frontal crash. 36 vehicles.
- 19V263 (2017-2018): the toe board in the passenger footwell is not stiff enough, so an unbelted passenger's knee can hit hard structure. Dealers fit a new design. 424 vehicles.
Complaints and recalls by model year
Wikipedia lists a 3.5-liter Toyota 2GR-FE V6 and a 6-speed Aisin manual. Keep in mind that late Evoras are younger cars, so owners have had a shorter window to file with NHTSA.

Repair it or let it go?
Got a 2011 supercharged Evora leaking oil, or a 2017-2018? Check its VIN on NHTSA's recall page first. After that, weigh a written repair estimate against the asking price of a healthy Evora from your year. Suspension trouble? broken suspension covers the signs. After a crash, read wrecked or totaled before you take the insurer's number.
Selling the car whole
Have the VIN, mileage and title ready, then get an offer online or call (877) 421-6008. Tell us where the Evora is parked, if it can roll, and if a wheel has been taken off. Keep the V6 and the cabin intact, and flag any part that's been sold.
Wikipedia notes the Evora GT ended after the 2021 model year and the Emira took its place in 2022. Other Lotus pages: Elise, Esprit, Elan, or all of Lotus.
