Selling a dead or damaged Mazda MX-30

Mazda never sold the MX-30 EV outside California in the US. According to Wikipedia, it went on sale there in August 2021, only in the Premium Plus package, and was discontinued in July 2023 after sales of less than 600 units. If yours has a dead battery, crash damage or a fault nobody wants to chase, you can sell the whole car as it sits. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, with free pickup anywhere in the US.

What it is

Wikipedia calls the MX-30 a subcompact crossover. EPA files it as a midsize car, model years 2022 and 2023. The US version is the battery-electric one: a front motor driving the front wheels through a single-speed automatic, fed by a 35.5 kWh prismatic lithium-ion battery. Mazda builds it at its Hiroshima Plant and lists the CX-30 and Mazda3 as related models. Wikipedia describes the US car as a "low range, high cost compliance car."

Its NHTSA record

20220none0

That is the whole file as of October 10, 2026: one complaint, about steering, and no recalls. Very few of these cars were sold, so few owners exist to file, and the later ones are still young. Zero here is not proof of anything.

Fix it or sell it?

On an EV, the battery is the part that decides. If a dealer says the pack has failed, get the diagnosis in writing and ask whether any Mazda warranty still applies. To decide if that repair makes sense for the car, read our EV battery guide.

Check your VIN at NHTSA's recall lookup even though the data shows none. For crash damage, see wrecked or totaled.

Selling an MX-30 whole

  1. Have your MX-30's VIN, odometer number and a short note on the problem ready.
  2. Ask for an offer online, or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Tell us whether your MX-30 powers on, whether it rolls and where it's parked.
  4. Leave the battery and charging cable with the car. If anything was removed, say so.
  5. Have your ID and the MX-30's title at pickup, and see after you sell for plates and insurance.
