Selling a Ram C/V Tradesman
The Ram C/V has the smallest NHTSA file of any Ram on this site: 12 owner complaints, across the 2013 to 2015 model years. A dozen reports is too small a count to read a trend from.

An old C/V that's done is still worth selling whole. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, cargo minivans included. You sell the whole car as it sits, with free pickup anywhere in the US.
What the C/V is
EPA data lists the C/V for 2012 through 2015 as a flex-fuel minivan, under three names: C/V, C/V Cargo Van and C/V Tradesman. Per Wikipedia, the C/V came with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a 6-speed automatic. It rode on the Chrysler RT platform with front-wheel drive, and it was assembled in Windsor, Ontario. Wikipedia says the C/V Tradesman was discontinued after 2015, with the ProMaster City taking its place.
Problems and recalls, 2012-2015
The complaint counts are too small to show a trend. The engine is named most, in 4 complaints, and fuel and propulsion in 2. These C/V numbers are owner reports NHTSA had as of October 10, 2026.
Both recalls are air bag software fixes:
- 13V283000 (2013). A software error could fire the air bags on the side opposite the impact. Dealers reflash the occupant restraint module. The campaign's 224,264 vehicles also include 2013 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, so not all of them are C/Vs.
- 14V528000 (2013-2015). It covers C/V Tradesman cargo vans built with two front bucket seats and no rear seating, 18,245 vehicles. Dealers update the restraint module software.
| Year | Complaints | Recall campaigns | Named in complaints |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2012 | none filed | none listed | n/a |
| 2013 | 4 | 2 | Service brakes, engine, electrical (1 each) |
| 2014 | 7 | 1 | Fuel/propulsion 2, engine 2, air bags 1 |
| 2015 | 1 | 1 | Engine 1 |
The 2014 complaints include two that report injuries.
Fix or sell?
The newest C/V is a 2015, so most have years and miles on them. Have the shop write up a quote, then check it against what a running C/V van brings. If it's close, selling it whole is simpler. Before you decide, run the VIN through NHTSA's recall lookup. Old or high mileage explains when to stop spending.
Selling your C/V whole
- Have the VIN, mileage and the problem ready.
- Ask for an offer online or call (877) 421-6008.
- Describe the parking spot and whether it can be pushed.
- Leave it together, shelving and partitions included. Point out anything that's been taken off.
- For the pickup itself, you'll need the title, the keys and an ID. Lost the title? See selling with no title.
Questions people ask
- What recalls does the Ram C/V have?
- Two, both air bag software fixes. Recall 13V283000 covers 2013 vans where a software error could fire the air bags on the wrong side. Recall 14V528000 covers 2013-2015 C/V Tradesman cargo vans with two front bucket seats and no rear seats. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
- Why are there so few complaints?
- The C/V sold for only a few model years, and the NHTSA file has 12 complaints across 2013-2015. A small count doesn't tell you how a given van has held up.
- Will you buy a C/V that won't run?
- Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, including cargo minivans, with free pickup anywhere in the US.
