Selling a dead or damaged Genesis GV60

On the GV60, the electrical system is the story. NHTSA had 77 owner complaints on the GV60 by October 10, 2026, and 41 of them point to the electrical system. The 2023, the first US model year, holds 58 of the 77, with 31 of those naming electrical.

What the GV60 is

Wikipedia describes the GV60 as a battery electric compact crossover. It has been built in Ulsan since 2021 on Hyundai's E-GMP platform and is related to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9 and the Kia EV6. Power in the GV60 goes through a single-speed reduction gear. It comes with one rear motor and rear-wheel drive, or two motors and all-wheel drive. Batteries are 77.4 or 84 kWh. The EPA lists model years 2023 through 2027.

Recalls owners should know about

  • Charging control unit (2023-2025): recall 24V204 was replaced by 24V868, under which dealers inspect and replace the Integrated Charging Control Unit and its fuse and update its software. The 145,642-vehicle count covers the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80 as well. If yours has no power, read EV battery failed and electrical problems before you price a repair.
  • Rear driveshafts (2023): under 23V300, the rear driveshafts on all-wheel-drive 2023 GV60s may fracture, which can cut drive power; all 1,790 vehicles are GV60s. Under 24V065, a GV60's rear inner driveshaft may have missed proper heat treatment (1,165 vehicles, Ioniq 5 and 6 included).
  • Seat belts (2023): pretensioners get capped under 23V094, and 23V557 covers a front passenger belt retractor that may keep the belt from fastening or extending (168 vehicles, all GV60).
  • Displays and glass: instrument panel display software (25V474 for 2023-2025, 26V019 for 2026), a rearview camera that may shut off in reverse on 2024-2025 cars (24V584), and a stainless-steel molding at the top of the windshield that may detach (25V624, 7,855 vehicles, all GV60).

Complaints and recalls by year

We pulled these GV60 counts from NHTSA on October 10, 2026. The 2024 and 2025 are new, so their numbers are still growing, and there are no complaints yet for the 2026 or 2027.

Fix it, or sell the GV60?

Check the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls first. The charging unit and driveshaft remedies are free at a dealer. When no recall covers the GV60's fault, get a written repair quote and set it beside the price of a working one from the same year.

Selling it whole

  1. Before you reach out, gather the GV60's VIN, its miles, and what it will and won't do.
  2. Get an offer online or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Tell us if your GV60 powers up, if it rolls and where it's stuck, so we send the right truck.
  4. Leave the battery and everything else in place.
  5. Keep the GV60 title and a photo ID ready for the driver.

The charging-unit (ICCU) recalls also cover the electrified versions of the GV70 and G80.

Questions people ask

What is the GV60's charging control unit recall?
Recall 24V868 covers 2023-2025 GV60s, among other Hyundai and Genesis EVs. Dealers inspect and replace the Integrated Charging Control Unit and its fuse as needed and update its software, free. It replaced an earlier recall, 24V204.
Will you buy a GV60 that won't power on?
Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, including EVs, and pickup is free anywhere in the US. Mention if the GV60 shows any power at all and if it will shift into Neutral.
Why is the 2023 GV60 so far ahead of later years on complaints?
It has been on the road longest, so it has had the most time to collect them: 58 of 77 as of October 10, 2026. It is also covered by 8 of the 10 recall campaigns.
