Selling a broken or junk Infiniti G37
Nearly half of what G37 owners have told NHTSA is filed under one component: air bags. On October 10, 2026, that covered 261 of the 565 G37 complaints, and air bags top the list in each model year from 2008 to 2013. Yet the G37 has only two recall campaigns.

One generation, many body styles
EPA lists the G37 from 2008 to 2013. The family also includes the G25 sedan and the all-wheel-drive G37x and G25x. Wikipedia places it in the fourth-generation (V36) Infiniti G.
- Coupe: arrived for 2008 with the 3.7-liter VQ37VHR V6 at 330 hp. The IPL coupe made 348 hp from 2010.
- Sedan: replaced the G35 sedan for 2009, with the same 3.7-liter V6 at 328 hp.
- Convertible: designed by Shinichiro Irie.
- Gearboxes: a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic.
From 2014 Infiniti renamed its cars with a Q. The G sedan's place went to the Q50, and Wikipedia notes the G37 itself came back as the Q40 for 2015.

The two recalls
08V521 (2008 coupe). A dealer used a special tool to check the signal running between the OCS and ACU systems. The campaign's 204,361 vehicles cover the 2007-2008 Altima, 350Z and G35 sedan, the 2008 Rogue, Altima Coupe, G37 coupe and EX35, and the 2009 Murano. It is not a G37 count.
11V538 (2011-2012 coupe). A programming error in the power windows. Dealers replace the power window switches. The 1,788 vehicles were built July 2 to August 29, 2011, and include 2011 Nissan 370Zs.
Every year, with crashes and recalls
G37 complaints were tallied on October 10, 2026, from the file NHTSA publishes. One G37 complaint lists a 2007 model year, which EPA doesn't have for this car; we show it the way it was filed.

The 2009 is the G37's high point. The 2012 and 2013 cars had a shorter run on the road before the count than the early ones.
Repair it or sell it?
Get a written repair estimate, then find what a running G37 like yours goes for. If the estimate is close to that price, the G37 is worth more sold whole than fixed.
- Run the VIN at NHTSA's recall lookup. On a 2011-2012 coupe, ask a dealer whether the window switch recall was done.
- Air bag light on? Get it diagnosed. The light alone doesn't tell you what failed or what the fix costs.
- High miles on the V6? See old or high-mileage cars for what still counts.
Selling a G37 as it sits
- Know your G37's VIN and mileage, plus its body: sedan, coupe or convertible. Also note if it's an all-wheel-drive x.
- Ask for an offer online, or call (877) 421-6008.
- Tell us the G37's location and if it can roll. For a convertible, mention if the top is stuck open.
- Leave the parts on, from the wheels to the seats. If someone already pulled parts, say so up front.
- On pickup day for the G37, sign over the title, hand the keys to the driver and show your photo ID. After you sell covers plates and insurance.
