Selling a wrecked or broken Maserati Grecale

NHTSA's file holds 10 owner complaints about the Grecale, and the 2023, its first model year, has every one of them. The component they name most is the brakes: three complaints list service brakes and one more the hydraulic brakes.

What's on file for the Grecale

Wikipedia describes the Grecale (Tipo M182) as a compact luxury crossover on the Giorgio platform shared with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, built at the Cassino plant since March 2022. Gas versions use a 2.0-liter mild-hybrid four or the twin-turbo Nettuno V6, 3.0 liters, with an 8-speed ZF automatic. The Folgore is electric, with two motors and a 105 kWh, 400-volt battery.

Beyond the brakes, two of the 2023's complaints name the electrical system, and one each the engine and engine cooling, the latches and locks, and an unknown or other component. Two owners reported their Grecale being towed. None report a crash, fire or injury.

The three recall campaigns are all fixes to software or small parts:

  • 24V892: park assist module software could keep the rearview image from showing (2023-2024; 1,710 vehicles, including 2024 GranTurismos).
  • 25V098: radio software, updated remotely or by a dealer (2023-2024; 27,354 vehicles across many Maserati models).
  • 25V722: headlights may be missing caps that stop the aim from being changed (2023-2025; 10,008 vehicles, including the GranTurismo and GranCabrio).

These Grecale counts come from the NHTSA data dated October 10, 2026. The 2024-2026 cars are recent enough that a zero mostly reflects how little time owners have had.

Fix it or sell it?

Put the VIN into NHTSA's recall lookup and have open campaigns done; the listed remedies are free. After a crash, set the insurer's repair estimate next to what the Grecale is worth undamaged, and wrecked or totaled explains the choices. On a Folgore with a battery problem, ask a Maserati dealer what the warranty covers before deciding; EV battery failed covers the rest.

Selling a Grecale whole

  1. Have the VIN, mileage and version (GT, Modena, Trofeo or Folgore) ready, and say what's wrong.
  2. Get an offer online, or call (877) 421-6008.
  3. Say how it's stranded: location, whether it rolls, and on a Folgore, whether the pack still holds charge.
  4. Don't remove parts; note anything already gone.
  5. Have the title or lender details on hand, plus ID, for the driver. Plate rules are in after you sell.

Questions people ask

Why are all the Grecale complaints on the 2023?
It is the oldest Grecale model year, so it has had the most time on the road. On October 10, 2026, the 2024, 2025 and 2026 had none. Those three are younger, and a younger Grecale gives its owners fewer months in which to file one.
Are the Grecale recall vehicle counts all Grecales?
No. 24V892 also covered the 2024 GranTurismo, 25V722 the GranTurismo and GranCabrio, and 25V098 many Maserati models. The 1,710, 10,008 and 27,354 figures are whole-campaign counts.
Do you buy a wrecked Grecale that is still being paid off?
Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, with free pickup anywhere in the US. Mention the lender up front; still owe on the loan explains the payoff step.
