Every Plymouth is old now. The EPA's fuel economy list carries Plymouth models from 1984 through 2001 and nothing after, so the newest one turned 25 this year. That shapes everything below: the paperwork, the complaint counts, and why most of these cars are sold whole rather than fixed.
Plymouth in the EPA list
The list covers 14 Plymouth models, and all 14 have a page on this site. Four of them were still in the list in the late 1990s: the Voyager until 2000, the Breeze from 1996 to 2000, and the Neon and Prowler through 2001. The rest ended between 1986 and 1995.
The Voyager ran the longest, every model year from 1984 to 2000. The Colt came close, 1984 to 1994. At the short end, the Conquest appears for three model years, 1984 to 1986, and the Prowler for three, 1999 to 2001.
Which Plymouths draw the most complaints
Plymouth owners had sent NHTSA 10,961 complaints across all 14 models by our October 10, 2026 count. Those are reports filed to the federal safety agency, not a count of failures and not a reliability score. One model carries most of them.
| Model | Years in the EPA list | NHTSA complaints |
|---|---|---|
| Voyager | 1984-2000 | 7,679 |
| Neon | 1995-2001 | 1,372 |
| Breeze | 1996-2000 | 666 |
| Acclaim | 1989-1995 | 426 |
| Sundance | 1987-1994 | 308 |
| Colt | 1984-1994 | 170 |
| Laser | 1990-1994 | 115 |
| Prowler | 1999-2001 | 59 |
| Reliant | 1984-1989 | 44 |
| Horizon | 1984-1990 | 23 |
| Caravelle | 1985-1989 | 8 |
| Turismo | 1984-1987 | 4 |
| Conquest | 1984-1986 | 0 |
| Gran Fury | 1984-1989 | 0 |
Read the bottom of the table with care. Models that left the list in the 1980s show almost nothing, and the Conquest and Gran Fury show zero. A blank there says little about the cars. The late models are the opposite case: a 1999-2001 Plymouth has spent less time in owners' hands, and so less time drawing reports, than a 1995 one, which is one more reason the Prowler's 59 cannot be compared straight against the Voyager's 7,679.
What the table does show is concentration. The Voyager's total is more than five times the Neon's, and the Voyager was also in the list for 17 model years, longer than any other Plymouth.
What every Plymouth has in common now
Age. A 2001 Neon or Prowler is the youngest a Plymouth gets, and most of the 14 models are well past 30. On a car that old, a few things come up again and again:
- Titles go missing. A car that has changed hands in a family, or sat in a barn, often has no title anyone can find. Our guide to selling a junk car with no title covers the state-by-state fixes.
- Cars sit. Tires flatten, fuel goes stale, and the battery dies. A Plymouth that has sat for years is still a whole car to us.
- Projects stall. A restoration started on a Plymouth and never finished is common. If that is yours, see selling an old project car.
Selling a Plymouth whole
Nothing needs removing beforehand. Engine, seats, chrome and glass all stay put. The car leaves as it sits, on a truck.
- Note the year and model. If you are unsure which Plymouth it is, the model pages below list the years each one was sold.
- Say if the engine starts, if the Plymouth can be pushed, and what is broken or pulled off it.
- Check whose name is on the title. When it still names a late relative, start with selling an inherited car.
- Describe the spot it occupies, whether that's a carport, a back field or a gravel drive. Pickup is free anywhere in the US, and the tow truck meets the Plymouth right there.
After the sale, deal with the plates and the paperwork.

Questions people ask
- Do you buy Plymouths that don't run?
- Yes. We buy whole non-running and junk cars, Plymouths included. Sell the whole car as it sits, with free pickup anywhere in the US.
- Can I still sell a Plymouth now that the brand is gone?
- Yes. No new Plymouth has appeared in the EPA list since the 2001 model year, but the cars still carry titles and VINs like any other. What you need is the title in your name, or a way to replace it.
- Why does the Voyager have so many more complaints than other Plymouths?
- It was in the EPA list for 17 model years, 1984 to 2000, longer than any other Plymouth. A model sold for longer and in bigger numbers collects more complaints, so the count alone is not a verdict on the van.
- My Plymouth has sat for years with no title in sight. Is that a problem?
- It slows the sale but rarely stops it. Every state replaces a lost title differently; the no-title guide linked on this page lists the routes.
